Why Should You Vote For Tracy C. Tarum for Congress?

If you are like me, when it comes to the primary elections, you are probably asking "who should I vote for in the August 2nd Republican Primary, and why?" If you read this page, and then as you explore my website, I believe you will find that I am running because I know what needs to be done to save our nation.

There is no way to prove this until after you’ve elected me, but I make you this promise: you can trust me. Read my posts and pages throughout, and understand who I am. Every single word you read is written by me: I alone write on my website, no one writes for me. I hide nothing, and I have nothing to hide. I promise you, I AM the best person to represent you – the freedom loving, honest, hard working Tennessean – in Washington, D. C. I assure you; I will never become a Washington insider. Politics is something I know I’m called to serve in, not something I desire.

I hope you are asking the question: "why should I support Tracy C. Tarum to represent me Washington D. C.?" To me, it is simple. As you read my posts and pages, you will find out a number of facts about me. For one, the order of importance in my life is God, Family, Country: it really is that simple, and it is not open for compromise. You will begin to understand that I’m not running for my glory, not because I want to be seen and known, and not because this has been my lifelong dream. Yes, I am upset with the direction my country is headed: yes, I am tired of the socialism that is overtaking us: yes, I believe the current movement is intentionally eroding the very foundation of America in order to remake us into a socialist nation: and YES, I want it stopped. However, I would never have the courage to pursue this on my own. I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t feel called to serve; it truly is through conviction that I pursue this. Honor, honesty, and Integrity are words I believe in; they are words that mean something. I spent four years in the U. S. Air Force, I believe in and love my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, and I understand and believe in the United States Constitution. I understand that the federal government our Founding Fathers established was and is intended to be limited in power; dealing with matters foreign primarily, while matters domestic are best handled within the States. Their vision is nearly gone, and I want it to be restored. They understood, and we must understand again, that the greatest danger to the Liberty of man is centralized power. That is what we have in Washington right now, which explains our loss of Liberty. I understand this problem, and intend to fight to rectify this.

The real power, as our Constitution is written, resides within the States individually or the people themselves. Our Federal government is selling us out and sending us down the river into a sea of debt and despair without a means to paddle or navigate. The debt is mounting and the mandates won't stop. None of this, mind you, aligns with the limited powers given the Federal Government by the Constitution.

Here are some basic promises from me to you. I promise you that I will neither support nor propose ANY legislation that extends beyond the 18 enumerated powers of the federal government as spelled out in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. I promise you that I will not support ANY new tax, unless it is a sustainable flat tax or the Fair Tax (and I’ll only support the Fair Tax if it includes a repeal of the 16th Amendment, thereby eliminating the possibility of ever having both taxes simultaneously); or coupled with one of these two taxes and consists of an overall lessened tax burden. I promise you that I will always stand for God, for family, for the unborn child, and for what is generally right. And last but certainly not least. If elected I promise to always serve you honorably; with integrity, honesty, transparency, and regard for your opinions while upholding the Constitution of these great United States.
