My mission statement to you:
America, this Great Republic, is under attack from within, and I want my country back! In my opinion, weak Republicans are mostly responsible for where we are today. You cannot blame a Liberal for wanting to socialize this nation, that's what they do. The Republicans were supposed to stand up against them for what is right. THEY FAILED US! I want to assist the conservatives in strengthening the Republican party. We need to take back America from the current Marxist movement and Administration. Together, we can. Yes, WE can!
Any Inheritance Tax Is Immoral
It honestly baffles me that a person can work hard their entire life, amass some capital through any means (smart investing, hard work, etc.), maybe even buy some land, pay taxes along the way; and yet the government somehow deems itself to be entitled to half of it when that person dies! How is it that people are not outraged by this? Personally, at this point in my life, I don't have anywhere near enough capital to be effected! But in this matter, as in every matter, it is not about me, it is about what's right and what's wrong; it's about Natural rights, and protections and violations thereof; it's about The Constitution!
This is only one of many reasons why I believe we need to enact the Fair Tax and repeal the 16th Amendment (the Income Tax). Obviously any back taxes due any government body would be extracted from the estate, the same as any other personal debt. However, the government would not be entitled to any further taking of monies from the estate. This power of protection from targeted taxation is in my mind a aturally given right, and therefore should be Constitutionally protected. I would therefore even support a Constitutional Amendment stating that when an individual dies, the power of the Federal or State government to tax that person dies with them.
