Immigration - Good  :  Illegal Immigration - Bad

I am sick and tired of hearing that Conservatives and Republicans are against immigration, that we are isolationists, racist, etc., simply because we expect new citizens of our nation to go through the same procedures that every other legal citizen not naturally born here has had to go through. Truth be told, I am sick and tired of all such claims on all topics by people who make such blanket assertions because they are either too lazy or lack the intellectual fortitude to engage in a meaningful debate. Is it really logical to call someone names because they don't think allowing anyone to walk across our borders unchecked, bring whoever and whatever with them, while bypassing all customs and laws is a good idea?

How do you expect to keep us safe, especially while we are at war with a cunning and crafty enemy - who has proven they will stoop to below the lowest of the low in order to inflict harm on innocent citizens - when you don't even want to secure our borders? How do you expect us to live harmoniously when we cannot communicate because these individuals never had to learn the language? How do we fairly prosecute them for crimes, and uphold the integrity of the Constitution, when it was never taught to them before becoming a citizen? So.....how do we combat this illegal immigrant problem? Very simple, we us the logical approach that the Great Phil Valentine labeled "Demagnetize America."  (I give credit where credit is due, and most of this idea comes from Phil.)

Right now it's too easy for someone to walk across our borders and find work. There is very little resistance from local, state, or federal governments. If we start to penalize the businesses that hire them, banks who loan to them, renters who rent to them, and actually prosecute the illegals; then they will return to where they came from. If we enact the following, there will be no need for deportation. When the jobs dry up, they will self-deport. To start with, at the federal level;

1.) Every business that knowingly hires an illegal will be fined $10,000 per offense
2.) Any bank that knowingly loans to an illegal will be fined $20,000 per offense, with the possibility of being shut down for repeated offenses.

Furthermore, I would encourage the states to;

3.) Enact legislation making it a misdemeanor to knowingly rent living quarters to an illegal alien
4.) Treat soliciting workers with the same laws and penalties as prostitution
5.) Enact a "graduated scale" for fines assessed on businesses that knowingly hire illegals (i.e. 1st offense, $500; 2nd, $1000; 3rd, $5000; 4th, $10,000; etc.)


Of course, let's not fool ourselves too much. Most of the people who support amnesty and illegal immigration are simply looking for a new class of people to help ensure they stay in power. If amnesty were to pass, there would be an instant 12 - 20 MILLION new citizens, mostly in low level positions, which would automatically make them eligible for the welfare rolls, both federally and in most states. That sure seems like a lot of new voters for any politician in favor of expanding welfare rolls. (I wonder which political party most benefits from that?)

So, you have to be screened to near nakedness to fly from Nashville to Memphis. However, if you're not even an American citizen, you can travel from Yemen, to Iran, to Syria, to Mexico; then walk across the California border and become a citizen, entitled to all our benefits and privilege? Thank you liberalism!

Since most of our illegal immigrants come from Mexico, that is where our focus should be. If anything we should assist these people in taking back their own nation from their corrupt leaders. If it wasn't so easy to walk across the border into America, perhaps the people would finally say "enough is enough," and the good people of Mexico could rise up and fight for their own freedom. It can be done. It was done in this country a couple hundred years ago. Mexico is beautiful nation, rich in resources. If the corruption was removed from her leadership, she could surely flourish and become a wealthy nation of prosperity and wealth. Then Mexico could worry about its own southern border!
