Foreign Aid  -  It's My Choice, Not My Responsibility

Do you know the foreign aid request in President Obama's budget is $49 billion?  That is $49,000,000,000!  That is 49,000 stacks of $1,000,000.  That is taking 49,000 millionaires entire worth.  Let's assume that EVERY SINGLE person; man, woman and child, in the cities of Lebanon, Mt. Juliet, Ashland City, Pleasant View, Pegram, and Kingston Springs had $1,000,000!  Wouldn't that be nice, especially in these hard economic times.  So if you are married with three children, such as myself, we are assuming you have $5,000,000 cash in hand.  Remember, every single person in these six great Middle Tennessee cities have $1,000,000 each.  Well, I'm sorry, but give it to me.  I, Jim Cooper, need every single penny of that.  Why you ask?  National Defense, roads, postal service (all Constitutionally justified)?  Not even close.  That is what we give every year to foreign dictators to live lavishly and oppress their people.  Sorry EVERY SINGLE Kingston Springs, Pegram, Pleasant View, Ashland City, Mt. Juliet, and Lebanon man, woman and child; but I, the federal government, Jim Cooper, and the rest of the "Blue Dog" Democrats feel your money is better served in the hands of Hugo Chavez, Mahmoud Ahmajinedad, and "leaders" in Egypt, Lebanon, West Bank in Gaza, etc., etc., etc.  But don't you worry, we have some welfare programs to keep you happy.  Of course, since you have nothing, we'll have to take from the successful people in Davidson, Cheatham, and Wilson Counties to give to you.

Is this your America? Do you really think this is following the verbiage and spirit of the Constitution? Do you realize why our nation was founded; why those brave men did what they did, fought as hard as they fought, and secured for us a Republic that, if followed as its founding documents are written, could prosper and secure liberty for eternity for our nation and others? DO YOU APPRECIATE IT? I'm sorry, but if you do, it doesn't show. After all, YOU, (and me) are responsible for allowing Jim Cooper, and other progressives, to continually be re-elected.

America, largely because we are a Christian nation, is by far the most benevolent nation and people this entire world has ever seen. Never before in history has a nation sacrificed so many lives, so many resources, with so little expectation; to secure life, liberty, and happiness for OTHERS! But benevolence and charity is not taking from people to give to others. It is allowing me to give to others as I see fit. I, personally, give to my church, to the Nashville Rescue Mission, to the Voice of the Martyrs, etc. I do not need the federal (or state for that matter) government taking my money to give to others and pretend it is charity. Charity comes from an open heart and a giving spirit, not from a man with a gun standing at the door threatening me with death or imprisonment if I do not give to his cause. 

When the earthquake struck in Haiti, (even in an economic recession), American's gave MILLIONS of dollars to those people in need. Do you remember when the tsunami hit in Indonesia in 2004? We gave MILLIONS of dollars of our own money for that as well. Why? Because we CAN! Because we are GENEROUS! Because we are a LOVING PEOPLE! Do not allow the government to take from you to give to the wrong people, who do not wish to help those you want helped. Don't be lulled into false security that your money is going to good. Your money is going to evil dictators, not to the people who need it. Give to the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, your local churches and charities; do not allow your government to steal your money to give to dictators to enrich their own egos, coffers, wallets and pride.
